Does Marijuana Cause Health Risks?
Some people have problems with addiction to marijuana or even cannabis in general. If you’re one of them, here are the possible side effects of consuming cannabis. Many people think that smoking marijuana, even for recreational purposes, can be harmless. Others do not know that marijuana has many risks. In fact, the effects of consuming cannabis can lead to some serious problems if a person does not take the proper precautions.
There are many physical side effects that marijuana has on the body. People who consume large amounts of marijuana regularly can develop hallucinations and may develop disorientation or lose consciousness at odd times. High levels can also create unstable emotions, fragmentary ideas, paranoia, panic episodes, hallucinations, anxiety, depression and feelings of unreality, not knowing when it’s going to happen next. These issues may eventually lead to a more severe problem if the person is not properly cared for.
There are also psychological side effects of cannabis as well. Many people feel that cannabis has helped them through difficult times or when they have bad days. But there is no scientific evidence that marijuana helps with stress or any other negative emotional or psychological condition.
Another possible side effect of consuming cannabis is that it can create a negative relationship between a person and their family members. This is especially true if a person smokes pot on a daily basis, because they begin to see themselves as different and more loners, which may even make them feel as if they are not wanted in a relationship.
There are also mental and physical consequences of consuming cannabis. Some people have difficulty focusing at work because they become distracted by their current state. They also experience mood swings that may include irritability, anxiety, depression, hostility and a host of other psychological problems. Also, the person may lose interest in sports, social groups and hobbies because they have no interest in doing these things.
Another common side effect of consuming cannabis is that people may experience some psychotic-like symptoms. For example, people who often hallucinate may notice that they hear voices, see strange visions and feel as if they are losing control. Some of these symptoms may become worse, so the person may become less likely to eat or drink.
